The oracle in Delphy says "Know thy self" or that's what Phyllis' inspirational desk calendar says. My name is Pam Beesly and in the last six months I've broken two men's hearts, had my best friend move three states away and think that I was going to lose my job.

I was supposed to get married on June 10 of this year but about a month before that happened my best friend, Jim, told me he loved me. Just like that, just threw it out there in the open. What was I supposed to say? Tell him the truth and I hurt Roy, my fiancee. Lie to him, and hope he understands. He understood but he was hurt, he cried. In the parking lot of our work he cried and told me that he wanted to be "more than that".

Two days later he transfered to the Stamford branch, on paper it was because he got promoted, he'll be making more money. But I know its because I told him that I couldn't not marry Roy...but then one week before our wedding...I called it off. Maybe that makes me a bad person but I couldn't marry Roy, knowing that our whole marriage, I'd be thinking about someone else...Jim.

So I have my own place now, its a nice apartment. My mom bought me a flower box that hangs on my balcony and I planted some flowers there. I guess I finally started to get on with my life...and then we found out that the Stamford branch, Jim's branch, is merging with ours. So he's coming back...and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
